The light is the first thing you notice. Then the fact that nothing in here was done cheaply.
The living space runs the length of the maisonette in one uninterrupted sweep — lounge at one end, dining in the middle, kitchen at the far end — with white marble floors that catch every bit of light coming through. Three double bedrooms sit off the main run. The master is the largest — black upholstered bed, mustard accents, a full wall of fitted wardrobe and a soft-lit dressing mirror. The second is finished in deep teal with floor-to-ceiling curtains and a pair of bedside lamps, and the third is currently made up with two single beds, which suits sharers or a family with children. Two bathrooms serve them, and both are properly done: one with a full bathtub set into book-matched marble under a backlit mirror, the other with a walk-in shower and a round halo-lit mirror against warm stone. There’s also a separate boxroom off the hallway with a sink, washing machine and tumble dryer — so laundry lives out of sight rather than in a bathroom corner.
Out the back is the reason to take this one seriously. A large private courtyard, fully tiled, walled for privacy, with a built-in outdoor kitchen counter and sink, a gas BBQ, and a table that seats six under an olive tree leaning in over the wall. In Melliħa, where outdoor space at this size usually comes attached to a much bigger rent, that courtyard is the whole argument.
